Learned Something New

New thing I just learned and put into effect recently - The Negativity Fast Here's how it works: 1. First, stop thinking negative thoughts 2. Second, stop talking negatively. I did it yesterday and some amazing things happened in our home and our lives. My son discovered something new about his purpose, I discovered that I was really helpful in a current situation I was struggling with, and God continued to show up all day through words, it was amazing! Smiles were all around. I've seen some really amazing things these past 8 months and He just keeps amazing me each time. This fast works! Honestly, if we just turned the tables for ourselves and made this one change of thinking positively over negatively it really will change the atmosphere around us. It really will. So I encourage you to try it. Wow! Move in day is around the corner! It is so awesome! I am cleaning and coming up with packing plans, inviting helpers over to help get stuff ready for move-in weekend. So...

Third Time Is A Charm

Third time around, felt defeated at first, we're on a trip of 19 house trips or something crazy like that, we're feeling tired about going back out there and looking again but we go back out there and we look. We saw 4 houses that day and the 2nd one we liked but it needed a ton of work, more work than we really wanted to do. Feeling like we may have to take on a big project we roll up to the 4th house and at first it doesn't look like how I thought it would from the listing pictures. The home was on a quiet road away from it all but neighbors were around, just that everyone had their own land and was within 4 - 5 houses of each other, space wise. There is a barn and an enclosure for goats and chickens. There is 6.5 acres of land and the possibility for more land to be used, because a neighbor down the road allowed the homeowner of this house to use the field across the street if they would like to as long as you mowed it, what an awesome deal! The backyard was breathtakin...

House Hunting Up North

Well, it's been a while since my last post. We've been busy trying to find a home for about 7 months now. We have placed offers on 3 homes. One of those homes we almost bought back in June, we had asked for a price about $40K below what it was being asked, I put a fleece out and prayed that if the price was accepted it was from God. Well we got the price. We had our inspection and some things came up that needed repair, not a lot tho, just some things. I prayed about it by putting a fleece out asking that if the seller came back and was able to pay for repairs then I would know if it was from the Lord. Well I got my answer and it didn't come back the way we had expected, this was not the home. As we still continued to look at homes many months later. There were other people who are interested in buying the first home we thought we were getting but turned out it wasn't the one. Well these people were able to buy the inspection reports from us, which was so cool because...

Our Lives Before and After

We've been living up North for about 4 months now. My kids love their friends and schools, my partner loves his job, he has gotten more thank yous than any other job he has ever had. I continue to be a stay at home mom, and I'm here for my kids when they need me. Our lives have changed for the better! We have had more money than we have ever had before. We're able to save instead of spend, if we need something, we no longer need to wait months or a year to get what we need. My partner and I use to need new clothes, underwear, socks, basic needs, and had to wait months and sometimes a year before we could get something. Our fridge has been filled weekly, we used to have very little in our fridge, groceries weren't plentiful before, we had the bare minimum and we had to rely on the food pantry in the past as well as budget out groceries to a very small amount. Our kids constantly complained of never having enough snacks, or food, we provided what we could at the time...

Closing and Freedom

Our errand was very long and my partner was keeping me posted as to when they started the closing till when the closing was officially over. Our plan was to meet at his parent's house but the closing was going slow, he forgot how long the process was for the buyer versus the seller, he quickly remembered from the last time we were at our own closing when we originally bought the house. It really is way more paperwork for the buyer, the seller signs a few papers and passes the stack to the buyer and they do the rest. I told him to keep me posted and when he left maybe he would want to meet up with us for linner (that's what we call lunch and dinner together) before we went to pick up our daughter. When he was done, he told me that the person who bought the home was very nice and excited, this was going to be their first home and they were so excited to have a home close to their family who lived about 20-25 minutes away. I understood their happiness and was so glad that God he...

Moving Weekend Part 4

We woke up the next morning to quiet. When I finally was able to get some sleep it was the quietest, serenest sleep I could ever have. Didn't hear a lot of traffic. My partner, myself and my son, woke up early and took off early to go back to where we moved from. My partner had to be at the closing (he opted to go), and I had to do an errand with my son that was local to our last hometown, we also had to get my partner's car and we had to pick up our daughter from her grandparent's house. It seemed like a crazy thing to do but in all honesty three hours on the road is not bad. Wouldn't want to do it daily but for a weekend trip, it's fine. My sister-in-law and her significant other slept in their van in the driveway and stayed with the truck. We had to be extra quiet, as to not wake them. They were sleeping in and would be unloading the truck while we were gone for the day, such awesome people, I just want to say. How many people would stay overnight and do the wor...
